Education Program
Our students range from primary school to high school, to college and university. One Life One Future Cambodia provides access to high-quality education, tutoring and extra-curricular activities – we believe that education extends well beyond the classroom. Our students have the opportunity to express themselves through activities including art and dance, and also play sports including boxing and football (soccer).
Family Assistance
A stable, supportive family gives children and youth the security they need to succeed in education, personal development, and beyond. We believe that keeping families together, connected, and functioning is a vital part of what we do. To do so, we provided temporary monthly family assistance to our student’s families which included staple food items such as rice, cooking oil and hygiene items.
One Life One Future Cambodia does not believe in long-term aid, as it creates a dependency on assistance – we believe in providing a hand-up, not a hand-out. As such, we aim to create financial independence and stability within our student’s families through economic and community development. Other income initiatives have included chickens and chicken coops for sustainable family food production and income.
Community Outreach
While we believe that education for today’s children and youth is the key to breaking the poverty cycle, we must address every aspect of a family’s life if we wish to see poverty eliminated. Our community outreach work has included household solar lighting; water cleanliness, sanitation and infrastructure; and bicycles to provide access to education and employment.
When needed, we also assist in helping the community in a local crisis or disaster, such as our emergency drought relief during the severe 2016 drought. Other community outreach has included emergency house repairs and house builds, and emergency medical treatment.
